Orecchiette Pasta with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage

Incredibly delicious and simple meal for dinner!


  • 1 pack orecchiette pasta (16-oz pack)
  • 2 bunches broccoli rabe trimmed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil extra-virgin
  • 6 links hot Italian sausage (4-oz)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper ground
  • 1 can black olives 4-oz, sliced


  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  • Once the water is boiling, stir in the orecchiette and return to a boil.
  • Cook the pasta uncovered for about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta has cooked through but is still firm to the bite. Drain well.
  • Bring another large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Stir in the broccoli rabe and cook uncovered for about 6 minutes or until tender. Drain afterwards.
  • Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes or until firm; turning frequently.
  • Cut the sausage into half-inch pieces and sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, onion salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sausage is no longer pink in the center.
  • Once done, stir the sausage mixture into the pasta along with the sliced black olives to serve.
